An Autumn Dinner in Tuscany
Autumn carries promises of cozy evenings, and our home becomes a haven for satisfying, seasonal cooking. During October and November, I love cooking a few of my tried-and-true recipes from Villa San Michele in Tuscany. For years, I took small groups of my catalog customers to a cooking school at this legendary, luxurious villa in the hills overlooking beautiful Florence and the countryside around it. I’ve gathered four simple recipes from this cooking school by Chef Attilio di Fabrizio for you to enjoy.

This collection of recipes from my A Villa in Tuscany volume captures the magic of fabulous Italian cooking. I hope you’ll try them one at a time, or all four together for a special occasion. The soup is best when you cook it the day before you plan to serve it, then gently bring it back to a boil. The Eggplant and Goat Cheese Tortelloni and Renaissance-Style Lamb Chops are both simple, spectacular fall dishes, and the scrumptious Tiramisù is great for dinner parties since it needs to be made ahead.
